Nora - 4/18/2017

Nora had a few bites of flat bread and ate lots of grapes for breakfast.  For lunch she had a taste of everything; hamburger, whole wheat elbow noodles, peas, and applesauce.  She pretty much spit it all back out and so I just gave her some fruit salad that I also had on the tray.  (Emily, please try to remind me to talk to you tonight so I can tell you how I deal with this - if a child will not eat what is prepared.)  She also drank 4 oz at 10:00.

Nora was acting pretty tired first thing this morning so I put her in her crib for a nap.  Hudson heard the "sleep sound" through the monitor when he arrived and I told him Nora was sleeping.  He started singing "night night Nora, night night Nora."  Minutes later he had one of the dolls wrapped in a blanket and was singing, "night night baby, night night baby."  Nora never did go to sleep, but she played great the rest of the morning.  (She had a big poop about 10:15.)

Here's a picture that illustrates what we call "parallel play."  This is how kids this age play "together."  It's side-by-side play, but essentially playing independently.  (In this picture they are obviously playing with identical toys, but that's not necessarily part of the definition.)  "Sharing toys" is not a realistic concept yet, but it soon will be!  Probably 10 - 20 years!  Ha!  Kidding!  :)  It won't be too long down the road where they can play "together" with the same toy.

Nora was giggling and laughing loud watching the kids play on the balance beam and I had the camera ready because it looked like she was going to stand up.  But that didn't happen!  Ha!

Reid was playing on top of the igloo and Nora, Hudson, and Avilene were inside it.  Reid peeked inside and the kids loved it.  "Hey!  Where'd you come from!?!"  Then he was hanging his bare feet over the edge telling the kids to smell his feet.  What a goof!!
