Nora - 11/30/2017

Nora ate french toast and two bites of dried plums for breakfast.  For lunch she ate the meat from pulled pork sandwich, bite or two of bread, ate peas, and watermelon.

First I just want to comment on how I think Nora is handling the arrival of the new baby.  :)  It's always an interesting transition, but overall I feel that Nora is doing just fine.  It certainly helps that she's fascinated with Linnea; at least up to this point!  Ha!  I've been giving Nora extra loves and attention; especially when it's apparent that she needs it!  Example; when I'm feeding Linnea, Nora at first would crawl up onto the couch and lay her head in my lap.  Now, she usually comes over and rests her head on my knee once or twice during the process.  Just letting me know that she's still here! Even at this young age, group dynamics are alive and well and it always changes when someone new arrives!

First picture: Atley loves the combs and gave one to Nora to comb her hair.  Just a little FYI for everyone:  This chair is where lots of Nora's "social skills" are being developed.  :)  Really!  The Princess and her Chair!  I think she views this Chair as her Private Domain!  She's learning (I remain optimistic) that the Chair is big enough for 2 people and others like to play here too!  I consider the aspect of Social Development the most important thing that happens in Childcare.  And it's a joy to be a part of Nora's development!  :)

We read Christmas books at Story Time!  Never too early to get out the Special Christmas books!!  We sang songs and did some sign language as well.  Nora watches intently and tries to make various signs.  This isn't about Nora, but I did the sign for the color "orange."  Avi said, "Pumpkin!!"  Ha! Then we did some Christmas stickers at Art time.  It's never too early for Christmas stickers.  Oh, I already mentioned something like that!!  :)  Nora would do a sticker and put her thumb in her mouth, sticker then thumb, sticker then thumb.  Which was making the paper and stickers kind of wet, but they were kind of sticking!!  Ha!
