Nora - 2/15/2018
Nora ate waffle and fruit salad for breakfast. For lunch she ate bite of shepherd's pie (with hamburger, potatoes, green beans, carrots), ate whole grain tortilla, and cherries.
This first picture is one that Kenzie took yesterday afternoon. All the kids were watching it snow and squealing - thanks to encouragement from Kenzie and Riley. :) So when they were done watching it snow we read the "Jingle Bells" book! (From left: Hudson, Atley, Avilene, Nora.)
I like finding little "jobs" that the kids can do and learn to be helpers. Almost All kids this age LOVE to be a helper! One of Nora's daily tasks is to hold the bottle of milk for me while I gather up the baby and the burp cloth. I get situated on the couch and she gives me the bottle. Asnsoon as I say I'm gonna get Linnea a bottle Nora eagerly waits in her spot for me to give her the bottle. Then when I'm done feeding it's Hudson's job to set the bottle upright on the changing table. Nora is still not real happy about that!
Here are some pictures from this morning: Two or three times this morning I said to Nora, "get a blanket and go to your quiet spot." I really think it's helping her! (It seems to mellow her strong reactions a bit and maybe help her feel more in control.) She immediately quiets down, gets her blanket, and goes to her spot. (picture below) In the 2nd picture Nora had planted herself by Linnea and then yelled when Linnea was trying to grab the shoe. Haha! I told Nora all she had to do was pick up her shoes and move, but she didn't quite get it! :) I can't tell you for certain how long Nora played with those shoes - putting them on and taking them off - but it was a long time! It seemed like at least 20 minutes. In the last picture Atley was making an inviting looking tunnel for Nora to crawl through! This picture cracks me up because it makes Nora look tiny! She's NOT that little! We also did dot painting at Art Time.
