Nora - 3/13/2018

Nora ate toasted whole wheat english muffin and three servings of grapes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate half of pork chop meat, ate whole wheat toast, nibble or two of roasted vegetables (sweet potatoes, potatoes, and mushrooms), and ate applesauce.

We were in the middle of Story Time when the mail came and three new kid's books arrived that I've been waiting for!  Yes!  By my favorite kid's author too!  Well, maybe it's a tie between her and Dr. Seuss.  Their styles are totally different so that's good!  The kids were almost as excited as me!  I guess I've mentioned her name a lot because Hudson totally said her name perfectly - or at least he pronounced it like I do!  Haha!  He said, "Iza Trapani wrote that book!"  Wow!  That shocked me!  (I know I shouldn't be shocked by anything he says, but I still am!)  I now have 13 of her books.  (And she's an amazing illustrator as well.)  She basically takes the old Nursery Rhymes and expands on them - a lot!

In these first two pictures Nora was experimenting with the shape sorters and I was pointing at which hole the shape would go in.  Three shapes; circle, triangle, and square.  She did a couple of the circles and then was trying other holes and that just doesn't work.  :)  "These circles just won't go in that square hole!!"  She got tired of that and yelled for me to take the lid off!  "Now I'm a happy camper!"  (2nd picture.)  "See how easily I can fill my bucket!"  :)

Hudson is reading one of his favorites to Atley and Nora.  It's an "I Spy" book and it has an object on one page and you have to find the same object on the opposite page - which is much more full of other objects.  And that's what Nora is pointing at in the last picture.  If you look at Atley's Blog you'll see a picture of Hudson taking Atley's hand and pointing to the right object.  So cute.  They really do learn a lot from each other.  (Although not usually quite this direct!)  You're a good teacher Hudson!
