Nora - 4/18/2018

Nora ate most of whole wheat toast and two servings of mangoes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate ground beef with marinara sauce on whole wheat spaghetti noodles, no squash, and ate a large serving of fruit salad.  I got everyone their food at breakfast and then informed them, "I'm gonna put Baby Linnea in bed for her nap."  Hudson said, "Ok, that's fine with me."  Haha!!  (Ok, thank you Chairman Boyle: "All in favor of the motion say YES!!")

While Nora and I were snuggling this morning, before anyone else had arrived and the chance of distractions were minimal, I gave Nora a little Color Quiz.  (With signs and without signs. Totally nailed it.)  I knew she was catching on to the color signs we do, but I didn't realize she had it that well!  Great job Nora.  I'm super proud of you!!  Rather than explain it here I'll tell you in person how the Quiz was administered!  Haha!!  Later in the morning I was thinking about it so when everyone was engaged and she was near the color poster we did it again with the same result!  Hudson heard me that time and later I heard him saying to Nora, "Show me the red, show me the green.."  :)  Thank you Assistant Boyle.

This first picture is from yesterday afternoon about the time Momma Emily arrived to pick up Nora. Look at this brave little girl; going down the slide on her tummy.  :)  Over and over.  The last two pictures are from this morning.  Nora was doing this puzzle by herself and doing a good job, at least until Linnea arrived.  So we made some new arrangements!  The last picture depicts about 20 - 30 minutes of play for everyone!  Nora was sitting in the chair and Atley, Avi, and Hudson were piling stuffed animals and pillows around and on top of her.  Eventually Hudson wanted to have a turn and said for all of them to "come bury me!!"  :)

Nora ate oatmeal and two servings of baked cinnamon apples for breakfast. For lunch she ate a large serving of hamburger stew with meat, carrots, green beans, tomatoes, potatoes, and onions. She ate whole wheat dinner roll and two servings of fruit cocktail.    Just in case anyone was wondering how many; this is the last of 836 Blogs for our sweet Nora. It's been such a joy for me to have Nora in my Program for all this time and I'm also thankful when she returned during the crazy covid time. I'm glad Miles will be here for another year which means I get to see Nora occasionally. I sure love all my Hansen family!! You guys are awesome. Here's a classic Nora comment from yesterday. The 3 oldest girls were at the table doing some Art. There was a clean piece of paper which had some paint or marker on the very top of it. Breakfast: French toast and plums. Avi said, "Not eating!" Ha. Ok, then Atley and Nora both followed suit! "Not eating!" Ha. I bet you guys will eat a big lunch and they did. Nora ate two servings of pulled pork, ate whole wheat toast, ate peas, and three servings of cantaloupe.    Nora; "I'm SO excited to start Kindergarten!!" Boy I've been hearing that phrase a lot lately and it is exciting!! What are you most excited about? Nora said, "I get to wear my mask." LOL That was SO cute. I laughed so hard. Nora - 05/25/2021

Nora ate blueberry bagel and two servings of grapes for breakfast. For lunch she ate shrimp, two servings of brown rice in berry juice, ate broccoli, and marion black berries.  At the meal table Nora saw a picture of Svea in the early years (ha) and said, "Look at you Svea! You were SO cute." Svea asked Nora, "Did you like me when I was that age?" What a super sweet conversation from both sides. Love it so much! This is kind of random, but in case anyone was wondering; I stopped doing the Spanish color words for the kids because - after listening to Alexa and Siri - I wasn't getting them correct and I didn't want the kids to have to unlearn and then relearn at Paxon. :)  First picture; Nora was building a tower with these little wooden blocks and you can see the "source of her supply."
