Nora - 9/11/2018
Nora ate three or four bites of whole wheat bagel and two servings of grapes for breakfast. For lunch she ate shrimp, bites of brown rice, ate a large serving of stir fry vegetables, and ate her raspberries.
Lauralea was with us for about 2 hours this morning doing some preschool trays and also some testing on the three oldest kids. I think the parents will appreciate these development assessments and it will also help me as their caregiver to look at some things to focus on. In this first picture Nora was trying to manipulate using these scissors after Lauralea had given instructions on how to hold them. This is a little past her age, but she seemed to have fun trying and didn't get frustrated by the difficulty of it. In the middle picture Lauralea is helping Nora thread some pipe cleaners through the holes. Just an FYI; we are strongly encouraging Nora to keep her thumb out of her mouth in the "preschool" room so she doesn't get the materials wet. I tell her she can go to the play room if she needs to suck her thumb. Picture number 4: Doing selfies with Gary while watching Lauralea do some testing with Avilene.
This last picture needs some explanation: Lauralea was "testing" Avi to see if she understood what it means to have or follow the "rules" of a game. (Nope, not yet - that's a little above her age range.) Anyhow, Lauralea was telling them a simple rule of "duck duck goose." The person who is "it" (goose) goes around the circle and touches each one saying, "duck" or "goose" and when they say "goose" that person has to jump up and chase and the "it" person tries to get to their spot first. Lauralea and I did it first to show them what that looked like. When it was their turn they were all just having fun chasing around and around the circle, but Nora got FURIOUS when someone sat in her spot!! Oh man that just hit my funny bone! Uhhhh...that's kind of the object of the game Nora. That's obviously way above her age capability as well, but in the context of this game it so was stinking funny!!
