Nora - 9/15/2020
Just want to do a FYI for everyone. My daughter Christina and Grandson Gideon will be here later today. So excited to have them coming for a couple of weeks. I think this is day 20 they've been without electricity in Louisiana from hurricane Laura. (Think of the heat without air conditioning!!) Also, I just want to mention that when the air quality is in the hazardous range I will not be taking the children outside. I have two air purifiers from the Health Department (One was free! ahh, not really free. Thanks to all of us tax payers.) to help with the inside air while the smoke remains.
Nora ate waffle and three servings of grapes for breakfast. For Lunch she ate three servings of chicken, bites of whole wheat tortillas, ate corn, and three servings of baked cinnamon apples.
These first two pictures are leftover from yesterday afternoon and here's the reason I like them. They represent some very positive growth in Nora's development. Both of these activities are things she's struggled with and asked for help and has not been very willing to try to accomplish on her own. However, that's all been gradually changing and she got the doll clothes on this doll totally by herself without asking for help. The puzzle in the second picture is a tricky one because it can be put together either direction. So it stretches their cognitive abilities!! Nice work Nora.
Next picture; Atley helped Nora and Svea get all cozy in their spot. This is their usual MO: Atley does the work getting all the stuff for them, but Atley has no interest in laying there! I asked, "What are you guys playing?" Atley said, "We are playing Christmas." Haha. (That would not have been my first guess!) My next question is pretty obvious!! "What part of Christmas does this represent?" Atley said, "We're sleeping and waiting for Santa Claus to bring us presents." So cute. Nora said, "Atley, build us a Christmas Tree!" Haha. Last picture: Svea and Nora are in their "cave" under the balance beam and Callahan is trying to see them. You can see Atley as well and again she's basically the one who was doing all the work establishing "darkness" in their cave!!
