Nora Hansen's Journal

Nora ate kix cereal and fruit cocktail for breakfast.  For lunch she ate ground turkey, two servings of toasted whole wheat sandwich thins, ate tomato, avocado, and banana.  First picture: It was Toy Exchange Monday and the Preschool Art Supplies were replenished along with some new ones! New markers - some that are for stamping instead of just drawing - fancy scissors that make interesting cuts, different tape for Valentine's Day, and some paints. I just did an online class this weekend about all the benefits of "child led art" for this age group. Super interesting class.  Next picture: Three girls in the picture "napping." You can see Svea's striped shirt, Atley's hair, and Nora's hair on the couch. I had to be quick with the camera because Atley wasn't in that position for very long!! Nora ate oatmeal and baked cinnamon apples for breakfast.  For lunch she ate hamburger stew with meat, tomatoes, carrots, and green beans.  She ate whole wheat dinner roll and two servings of apricots.   Nora was just starting some art and she said, "I'm gonna draw a rainbow at night." What does that mean? She thought about it and said, "The northern lights." I've not heard that before!! First picture: First thing this morning Svea and Nora were in the chair and Atley was piling the pillows and accessories on top of them. You can see Svea and Nora's feet sticking out. Nora ate two servings of French toast and ate dried plums for breakfast.  For lunch she ate pulled pork, whole wheat toast, ate peas, and three servings of strawberries/mangoes mix.    This first picture is left over from yesterday afternoon.  I guess Avilene wanted lots of room for her landing because she had them all lined up in the far corner.  And squeezed close together; Atley, Nora, Svea, and Cal. Avi actually came off the top of the igloo backwards and this was the end of the landing. I love that I can choose which "frame" of the picture to post!! Next two pictures: "Science with Lauralea" and the theme today is "Cold Weather."  Specifically snow, ice, and frost. Avi asked, "Like frosting on a cake?" Haha. Nora ate whole wheat toast and two servings of mangoes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate ground beef with marinara sauce on whole wheat spaghetti noodles, she ate a second serving of plain noodles, ate cauliflower, and two servings of fruit salad.    First picture:  The four girls were asking to do some art and here they are hard at work on their projects. Second picture; Nora told me she was working hard to do some letters. I like how small she wrote and she got a lot of 'letters' on her paper.   Next picture;  Getting some exercise flying thorough the air.  I showed Nora a picture of Atley that was very clear.  It's hard to get these jumping pictures clear and not blurry.  But this was as good as I could get this one.  They love seeing these pictures and looking at them in LIVE mode.   Last picture:  Even though you can only see two kids here, there are actually five of them in the picture.  Avi was doing a Preschool act...

Nora ate blueberry bagel and two servings of grapes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate shrimp, two servings of brown rice, ate stir fry vegetables, and two servings of raspberries.  Nora and Atley put all their rice, plus second servings, in raspberry juice.  "It's SO good!!"  First picture:  Nora and Atley were reading this "I Spy" book before breakfast.  It was fun to eavesdrop on their conversation.  Atley was the "reader" and was asking Nora to search for things.  "Can you find the red doughnut?"  What!?!  I peeked over the back and it was some stacking rings shaped just like doughnuts.  Nora said, "Oh I love those!!""  Haha.  Second picture: Nora and Atley had barricaded off a little spot using one of the doll houses and car ramps.  Next picture:  That's a big pile of soft stuff (pillows, doll blankets, stuffed animals, and dress-up clothes) on the couch. Nora ate bran cereal and raisins for breakfast.  For lunch she ate chicken, two servings of pita bread, ate avocado, cucumber, and pears.   This first picture is leftover from Friday afternoon.  Nora was upset about something; mad and crying and Svea was trying to help her.  Svea was saying, "Calm down Nora, calm down Nora."  It was actually super cute because Svea was truly trying to help.  However it was still so hard not to laugh.  Svea needs to tell herself that frequently!!  But at least she's thinking of someone other than herself here!!  Good work Svea. Later, I told Svea that Nora was having a hard time because her Mommy "left on an airplane this morning."  In typical 3 year old fashion Svea said, "When's my Mom coming back?"  Ha.  They really can't hear about someone else's issues!!  :) First picture:  I told Nora how cute she is and she responded so cutely!  Haha.  So here's the picture to prove it...

Nora ate cream of wheat cereal and dried plums for breakfast.  For lunch she ate two servings of Whole 30 Chili with meat, peppers, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, and tomato sauce.  She ate whole wheat dinner roll, and tropical fruit.   This first picture is left over from yesterday afternoon.  Svea and Nora looked so cute in their pajamas holding hands and going back and forth across the room.  And they both were wearing their pajamas yesterday as well.  Svea said, "Gary, My having a fun day!"  I love how she says that!  And she probably says that 3 or 4 times a week.   Next picture:  Alexa was playing music from the "Polar Express" and these two were running back and forth across the room this morning.  If you look closely at Nora you'll seeing she's looking to her right; yup, that's where one of the mirrors is located!!  Haha.  Every time she passed it.  The girl loves her mirrors!!   More pictures:  Nora with...
