Nora Hansen's Journal

Nora ate whole wheat English muffin and two servings of grapes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate pork roast, whole wheat toast, beets, and two servings of applesauce. Pictures from yesterday: This first picture is from snack and Svea's first time at the "big girl's table." She did very well; now if the big girls will quit dinking around during meals.  Haha.  Actually they do very well and I love for meals to be a fun social time. I just have to frequently remind Atley to stop trying so hard to make Nora laugh!!  Zoom in on Atley and Nora. Nora ate half of whole grain Chex cereal and ate two servings of pears for breakfast.  For lunch she ate ground beef, whole wheat hamburger bun, tomatoes, ate avocado, and two servings of mandarin oranges. Today is Toy exchange Monday and it was a very busy morning!!  The energy level was high all morning; which always adds to the volume as well.  And actually that's a great sound here, because I know everyone is busy, happy, and engaged in activities.  In the first picture Nora is holding her baby, but decided to wrap the baby blanket around her shoulders.  (Actually it's a bandana and there are bigger baby blankets, but they like using these as blankets too.)  Nora said, "Hey Atley! It's halloween!" Ha.  They love playing "halloween."  She was doing it later with a "pig mask" and said, "I'm a pig for halloween."  Ha. Nora ate most of oatmeal and dried cranberries for breakfast.  For lunch she ate tilapia, whole wheat elbow noodles, green beans, and three servings of applesauce. Breakfast Conversation: Atley said, "Gary, you're the best boy in the whole world."  After repeating it the second time Nora started plugging her ears.  I said, "Nora, why are you plugging your ears?"  Nora said, "Because I just don't want to hear it."  LOL!! Lunch Conversation :  Atley asked Nora, "Who is your favorite girl that you love?"  Nora said, "you, because you make me laugh."  Haha.  So true. Nora and Atley were at the window watching some small birds that were landing on the concrete very close by.  Nora said, "Hey Gary!! Nora ate blueberry bagel and three servings of peaches for breakfast.  For lunch she ate a large serving of hamburger & sausage pizza with the meat, peppers, tomato sauce, pineapple, and olives.  She ate the whole wheat pizza crust (which we serve on the side as the bread), and two servings of pineapple on the side.  At breakfast Atley told Nora; "I like your shirt."  Nora said, "Yes, it matches the peaches."  :) This first picture is left over from yesterday afternoon when Lauralea was showing them how to put their names on the pillow.  Second picture:  Atley and Nora were having a "party" (their word) playing with the school buses and Cal was playing close by with a school bus as well.  They were SO worried that he was gonna steal some of their stuff so one of them would stand "guard" (again, this is their word) while the other went for more supples. Nora had two servings of whole wheat toast and two servings of grapes for breakfast.  For lunch she had two servings of pork roast, ate whole wheat tortillas, carrots, and two servings of fruit salad.  For her third serving of fruit salad she asked if I'd give her just the strawberries.  Haha.  Nope, I will not just pick out one fruit!  She was totally fine with my answer, but hey, it was worth a try!!  :)  So she had a third serving of the salad! Here's a note leftover from yesterday afternoon - "Hey Gary! Are these my undies?"  Well I'm assuming so because those are the undies you arrived in!!  Nora said, "Well my Mom said they are mine!"  LOL!  Ok, let's go with her answer then!!  Personally, I think Nora was trying to trick me and get me in trouble somehow!!  :)  Any man that marries you Nora better have his ducks in a row!!  Or not, because you'll teach him what a "real row" looks like anyhow!!  :) ...

Nora ate whole wheat English muffin and dried plums for breakfast.  For lunch she ate chicken, a large serving of brown rice, ate stir fry vegetables (she said, "I love stir fry vegetables" and I guess that's true because she ate those first), and three servings of mandarin oranges.  Breakfast conversation;  Nora was talking about "Momma squirting water up my nose with a squirt bottle!"  I told her I have a squirt bottle and I'd be happy to do that.  :)  Then she added; "Momma had some candy and she sucked it up her nose and that was gross and I didn't like it!"  LOL!  Keep those stories coming Nora!!  :) This first picture is left over from yesterday afternoon.  We used to call this " doing bridges" when practicing for wrestling to keep your shoulders from the mat and from getting "pinned."  Future wrestlers right here.  :)  Nora and Atley were the ones doing it and then Svea joined in the background.  So cute. ...

Nora ate most of cheerios and ate banana for breakfast.  For lunch she ate ground beef, whole wheat pita bread, two servings of olives, and three large servings of watermelon. First picture:  Atley and Nora are hiding out in their "cave."  They said they were "hiding from monsters."  The giggling and chattering under the blankets just makes Cal all the more curious.  He was trying to touch Atley's toes in the picture.  Second picture:  Nora and Svea were building with the blocks and here is Nora on her "horse."  (Her word.)  I like how she's intentionally positioned herself directly in front of the mirror.  :) Next picture: Nora and Svea built most of this "airplane."  Atley joined them and immediately designated herself as the pilot.  Haha.  I asked, "Where are you guys going?"  Nora said, "To the farm."  I said, "The farm?"  Nora said, "Yes, where they have toys and candy!"  Hahaha.  OH!!...

Nora ate brown rice and raisins for breakfast.  For lunch she ate two servings of salmon, ate whole wheat dinner roll, two servings of cauliflower, and two servings of mangos. Some conversations this morning: "Hey Gary, are you someone's Grandpa?"  So I answered her question and she said, "Hey, when I was at the restaurant I saw Gideon."  (Grandson)  She asked, "Were you there too?"  Haha.  This is SO cute because I've shown her a picture of Gideon in a restaurant (in live mode) probably 100 - 150 times.  That's probably not much of an exaggeration!!  :) "Hey Gary! I saw a fox in my yard."  Oh wow, that's unusual to see one in town.  Nora said, "Yes, it was VERY colorful."  Oh wow, that's even more unusual.  Hahaha. All the pictures are from yesterday afternoon.  Avi loves to stand on her head in the corner.  So she helped Nora get into the position and Nora was saying, "Get me down, get me down."  Ho...

Nora ate whole wheat English muffin and two servings of mandarin oranges for breakfast.  For lunch she ate most of meat loaf, whole wheat elbow noodles topped with applesauce.  She also ate peas and an extra serving of applesauce. Avi and Nora were having an interesting discussion about the time I took this first picture.  Nora said something about the picture Atley is coloring; about the "sprinkles and frosting" on the cupcakes.  Avilene asked, "How do you know?" Nora said, "I just know."  Avi repeated the question, "How do you know?"  Nora; "I just know."  After at least one more round of the same words Avi changed her question to this; "I'm not saying you don't know, I'm saying, how do you know?"  It was fun to listen to them because neither one got too riled up. Nora ate French toast and three servings of strawberries for breakfast.  For lunch she ate a large serving of Paleo Stew with meat, broccoli, cauliflower, green beans, carrots, tomatoes, and sweet potatoes.  She ate saltines and three servings of tropical fruit.   A Nora story from today;  "Hey Gary, I saw a shooting star."  Oh really, tell me more.  "Well with my Mom and Dad and they looked at it too."  She said it was like "a binocular but with only one."  I loved that explanation!!  I have some binoculars that I occasionally get out for the kids to use.  So Nora, that would be called a telescope. First two pictures represent the first two things Nora did after she arrived.  Coloring pictures with Atley and then laying on pillows under baby blankets with Atley.  They actually have quite an assortment of toys with them in the corner. Nora ate bites of waffles and ate grapes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate two servings of chicken, ate whole wheat tortillas, corn, and two servings of baked cinnamon apples. First picture: Atley and Nora were doing some coloring first thing this morning, but the coolest part about this was their conversation.  I have no idea what they were talking about and I wasn't trying to listen.  I enjoyed hearing the constant chattering.  I love that.  Hey Nora! Do you like the color purple!?!  (I only know it's purple because later I asked her.  Ha!) Next two pictures playing with Atley;  Atley is under the blanket and you can see her hand sticking out.  They were pretending to just get up from sleeping and they had appointments to go to.  Second picture; They were saying things like, "We have to hurry because it's super late."  "I'm going to the dentist for an appointment and I am really late."  "Let's hurry so we're not late." ...

Nora ate kix cereal and mixed fruit for breakfast.  For lunch she ate turkey burger, whole wheat hamburger bun, avocado, tomato, and three servings of cherries. Hey, while I'm thinking about it I want to pass on this information.  Sometime close to the end of June, Blogger.com is launching a "new interface" what-cha-ma-call-it!  The information says it will be the default for all users.  So if you see a blip for a day or two, or you don't see the Blog, don't worry, I'll get it worked out!! !! First picture; Nora has a bus full of people and she said she was bringing her "animals to the dance class."  Then she asked Atley to participate.  Atley said, "I'm too tired for dance lessons."  Haha.  (Atley then went to the mattress and started jumping.)  Following picture; Everyone was so happy to see Callahan back.  When I took the picture Nora had been poking at his ribs; you can see his hand grabbing where she was poking.  ...

Nora ate oatmeal and most of apple pieces for breakfast.  For lunch she ate a large serving of hamburger stew with meat, carrots, tomatoes, and green beans.  She also ate most of whole wheat dinner roll and two servings of apricots.
