Nora ate bran cereal and ate raisins for breakfast.  For lunch she ate chicken, two servings of whole wheat pita bread, ate avocado, and three servings of pears.    First picture:  Atley and Nora playing at the doll houses.  We found a couple small strings of Christmas lights and tiny packages (You can zoom in for a look) just for Doll Houses.  The girls had fun decorating their houses for Christmas.   Next picture:  All five kids here today playing on the mattress.  Before Svea arrived Cal was wanting to know who's gonna be here.  "Avi coming? Avi coming?" No, she's at her gymnastic's camp.  "Vey Vey coming?  Vey Vey coming?"  Yes Svea's coming.  Atley's ponytail is flying and Svea's ponytails too. Next picture: Nora and Svea were playing on the couch with all the soft things in the room.  Nora was peeking over the top to see how Svea was doing on her side of the room!!  :)  Last picture:  Nora wo...

Nora ate French toast and two servings of strawberries for breakfast.  For lunch she ate a large serving of whole 30 chili with meat, peppers, tomatoes, tomato sauce, sweet potatoes, and spices.  She ate whole wheat dinner roll, and two servings of tropical fruit.  At the Lunch Table Nora and Avi were pretending like Atley was here today.  (She went with her family to a Ranch in Eastern Montana on a hunting trip.)  They were talking to Atley's empty chair and saying things like;  "Come on Atley; just eat it.  You like it.  You can try it."  Haha.  Even Svea got in on the make-believe talk. First two pictures;  Avi brought a wooden "pirate ship stacking puzzle" from home and her and Nora were working on that.  However in the first picture Nora was way more interested in Avi's necklace than anything else.  Haha.   Next picture:  Nora and Avilene heard Svea announce that "Gary!! I'm poopy!"  They sprint for fro...

Nora ate half of cinnamon raisin English muffin and ate grapes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate two servings of pork roast, two servings of whole wheat toast, ate beets, and two servings of applesauce.  All three big girls were trying to talk at the same time at breakfast.  This is a common occurrence and I try to let them deal with it as much as possible.  Nora said, "Atley! You're talking in front of me!!"  I kind of like that wording.   These first two pictures are from yesterday afternoon.  Nora and Svea had the couch loaded up with soft goodies and were pretending to sleep.  Svea has her head hanging off the edge and you can see Nora's feet hanging off the edge too.  All of a sudden Svea sat up, threw her arms in the air, and said, "Look at all the presents!!"  Haha.  Second picture;  They were dinking around on the couch and Svea put her feet in Nora's lap.  Oh man, big mistake!!  Nora was screaming and yellin...

Nora ate whole wheat Chex cereal and ate peaches for breakfast.  For lunch she ate ground beef, no whole wheat hamburger bun, ate tomato, avocado, and three servings of mandarin oranges.     At breakfast I was telling Lauralea about Atley's family going to a farm and they're gonna stay "in a bunk house."  Nora said, "I have a bunkbed!"  So Atley was quizzing her how she gets up and down without "cracking her head."  Good question Atley.  Then Atley was telling Nora about eating some Granola cereal.  But I love how she says it; "Grinilla" which rhymes with vanilla.  First picture;  Nora was trying hard to get a "smooch" from her brother.  "Miles! Will you give me a smooch!?!"  Not happening!  Although she finally did get a smooch from him when he was in the highchair at Lunch Time.  We did a toy, book, and puzzle exchange and there was just too many distractions for brother Miles!!  "I'm very busy here sister N...

Nora ate oatmeal and two servings of dried cranberries for breakfast.  For lunch she ate tilapia, two servings of whole wheat elbow noodles, ate green beans, and three servings of applesauce.    During Story Time we read a book about Hero's and the theme was having heroes and being a hero to somebody.  I asked the girls, "who is your hero?"  Avilene went first and said, "My cat is my hero." Then she said her Parents were too.  Haha.  Well at least they made the list!!  So Atley and Nora basically followed Avi's lead.  Nora said, "My dog; and my parents."  :)  One of the hero's in the book was the Science Teacher and the kids all yelled; "Science with Lauralea!!"  First picture;  One of the benefits of arriving first!!  We get more snuggle times.  This is not a selfie; I took this looking into the mirror.  Above Nora's head is the mirror behind us and you can see the frame of the mirror we're looking into. ...

Nora ate blueberry bagel and three servings of peaches for breakfast.  For lunch she ate two servings of pork roast (Gary, I love this meat), whole wheat tortillas, carrots, and three servings of fruit salad.  Speaking of meals the Program Monitor for CACFP (Federal Food Program) wanted to do one of their monitoring sessions today via Zoom.  Haha. Ok, that's fine with me as long as you don't mind the kids doing what kids do!!  I sat the computer on the art supplies cabinet and the three oldest girls were jumping up and down in front of the monitor so the lady could see them.  :)  But she was happy because I had all the proper paper work.  Thank you Parents for faithfully signing in-and-out which is one of several documents she needs to see.   First picture is left over from yesterday afternoon when we went across the street to get a close-up look at the neighbor's decorations.  Second picture is Nora and Atley (to the right and down of Nora) ...

Nora ate two servings of whole wheat toast and two servings of grapes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate a large serving of hamburger & sausage pizza with meat, peppers, pineapple, tomato sauce, and olives.  She ate whole wheat pizza crust (which we serve separately) and three servings of pineapple on the side.   First picture:  Atley and Nora first thing this morning doing some art and visiting at the table.  If you zoom in you can see Nora's expression as she whispers and talks softly to Atley.  And you can make an assumption it's secretive and humorous.  Ha.  Ask me about what Nora was saying.  Second picture;  The four girls were having fun doing Free Draw and adding some stickers as well.  Svea was especially loving the stickers. There were stickers of the American Flag and guess what that triggered in Nora;  "Joe Biden is really pretty."  LOL.  That cracked me up.  Have we just come through an election s...

Nora ate two servings of whole wheat English muffin and ate dried plums for breakfast.  For lunch she ate half of her chicken, bites of brown rice, half of stir fry vegetables, and ate mandarin oranges.   Ok this next piece is not about Nora, but I think you'll enjoy it.  At Lunch Time Avi said, "Gary, I feel electricity running through my chair!!"  LOL  Geez that hit my funny bone!  That's simply NOT true Avi AND I've never considered that as a possibility!!  Ha!  My question is obvious Avilene; How do you know what a jolt of electricity feels like!?!  Haha First picture: Yup, I like pictures of the kids at the window.  Haha.  Waving bye to Atley's Momma.  Atley is a big girl, but she's also frequently on her tiptoes like in this picture!!  Haha.  Which just makes her look that much bigger!!  Ha!!  Second picture: Nora, what is your costume?  "I'm a superhero."  It's always good to have a superher...

Nora ate most of cheerios and ate banana for breakfast.  For lunch she ate ground beef, whole wheat pita bread, olives, avocado, and three servings of watermelon.     This morning Nora asked Alexa to play, "Walk Like a Man."  That made me giggle because that's an old song - nearly as old as me, but not quite - from the early 60's.  Where'd you hear that song!?  Nora said, "In a movie I watched."   First picture: Nora spotted Santa Claus across the street and down a couple of houses.  The blow-up decoration moves, a door opens and Santa sticks his head out the door.  (You can see it if you zoom in.)  Cal was pointing and saying, "Santa. Santa."  Santa is actually sticking his head out of an "outhouse," but I didn't try to explain that part.  Haha. Next picture:  Nora at breakfast showing Svea how to wink.  Haha.  It's all in how you crinkle your nose! Also at the table Nora and Atley were having a conversation and...

Nora ate bites of oatmeal and ate baked cinnamon apples for breakfast.  For lunch she ate salmon, bites of whole wheat dinner roll, ate riced cauliflower, and two servings of mangoes.   There is nothing like meal time conversations here!!  Ha!!  Lunch conversation centered around all 3 big girls doing "one-upsman-ship" talking about who has the most new ski equipment!!  Hahaha.  "Well I have this and I have this!!" "Well I have more!!"  Nora talked about some guy "had the smallest ski poles I've ever seen!"  Occasionally I'll say, "What did you say?"  And they frequently will say, "I'm talking to Avi" or "Nora" or "Atley."  LOL.  So I just listen the best I can and put it here in the Blogs!!  Haha. First two pictures are from yesterday:  I've mentioned several times how Nora is doing so well with the puzzles and is so much more confident that she can complete the more difficult puzzles.  Nic...

Nora ate three or four bites of whole wheat English muffin and ate mandarin oranges for breakfast.  For lunch she ate ground beef, two large servings of whole wheat elbow noodles covered with two large servings of applesauce, and she ate her peas.    This first picture is left over from yesterday and the three girls were doing Art, but it was their conversation that had my attention.  Nora noticed we had the stew cooking in an "Insta- pot."  She was the one who started the conversation and soon they were all saying they each had an  "INSTANT POT"  at home.  Haha.  Avi said, "I think I have one."  Nora said, "I have one."  Atley said, "I have one."  :) Next picture:  The experiments they did yesterday involved straws. This first one the girls were trying to suck up a dime against the bottom of the straw and hold it enough to get it off the table.  Not easy.  Then we put some water on it and that helped a bit. Nora ate French toast and two servings of strawberries for breakfast.  For lunch she ate two large servings of hearty paleo stew with meat, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, tomatoes, green beans, and sweet potatoes.  She ate saltines and two servings of tropical fruit.   I haven't mentioned this to the parents, but at every meal time the three big girls wash their hands in the bathroom while I get the three little ones ready as well.  Three meals a day and three girls and of course the big question every time is; "Who's turn to wash?!?"  I'd forget and they'd yell "NO" and that was a common occurrence.  SO, about 2 months ago I said, "Ok, you guys are in Preschool now and you can figure it out and decide and YOU guys keep track of who's turn it is!!  They figured it out and they ALWAYS remember and they NEVER quarrel about it.  And they never ask me.  I ask them every meal, "ok who's turn is it to wash first" and they know. ...

Nora ate waffle and two servings of grapes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate two servings of chicken, ate whole wheat tortillas, corn, and two servings of baked cinnamon apples.  Breakfast conversation; Nora said to Avi, "Guess what!! The snow is not going away until after your birthday!"  Avilene said, "I know that because my birthday is only three sleeps away!"  Haha.  (And that's true.) Just an FYI: Nora asked if she could take a nap today and she went right to sleep.  First picture: Nora was busy drawing first thing in the morning.  Notice she's wearing one of the costumes as well.  This was well before breakfast.  Actually she's doing some tracing.  I think she's doing a butterfly and there are several things like a tree, a dog, and we also have lots of shapes to trace.   Next picture:  Five kids were lined up with drums.  (Cal was with his Grandma and didn't arrive until almost lunch.)  Atley asked Alexa to play...
