Nora Hansen's Journal

Nora ate bites of whole wheat bagel and ate grapes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate two servings of shrimp, bite of brown rice, ate stir fry vegetables, and raspberries. Nora just randomly said, "I love you Gary.  I love you so much."  Aww..that is so sweet!  And I love you too Nora.  And I really love that unsolicited show of affection!!  Thank you Nora. Nora ate bran cereal and raisins for breakfast.  For lunch she ate two servings of chicken, bite of whole wheat pita bread, ate avocado, half of cucumber, half of peppers, and ate pears. First picture today!!  What toy exchange?!?  This is way better than any stinking toy exchange!!!  Haha!  Nora was SO happy to see Callahan and it was adorable!!  She picked up right where she left off before his vacation last week: "Does he need a binky?  Shall I give him a ride in the stroller? Nora ate bites of whole grain cream of wheat cereal and no banana for breakfast.  Or as Atley called it; " Queen of weed cereal."  Haha!  Then she changed it to " Cream of weed cereal."  For lunch Nora ate bites of her baked beef kabobs with meat, zucchini, pineapple, and peppers.  She ate half of whole wheat bagel and ate pineapple on the side. Nora was working hard at doing some somersaults on the mattress and she was having lots of success!  Well done Nora!  She's pretty good at it!! This first picture is from yesterday afternoon and Nora, Atley, and Avi were doing some sidewalk chalk and as you can see they kept at it for a long time. Nora ate waffle and fruit salad for breakfast.  For lunch she ate bite of shepherd's pie with meat, green beans, carrots, and potatoes.  She had a bite of whole wheat tortillas and ate cherries. First picture: Atley was the one who initiated the food play and she's not even in the picture!  Because she's off getting more food.  Atley had said, "It's snack time!!"  Avi said, "What are we having?!?"  And then Nora joined them too.  Linnea and Svea were already at the couch so they were part of the meal by default!  :) Next two pictures: I'll state the obvious here: One of Nora's favorite activities is covering babies, stuffed animals, people (primarily Atley because she cooperates the best with Nora) with blankets!  And she likes having someone cover her up too!  She'll frequently yell, "Cover me up Atley!" Nora ate bites of French toast and ate strawberries for breakfast.  For lunch she ate whole 30 chili with sweet potatoes, tomatoes, tomato sauce, and peppers.  She ate bite of whole wheat dinner roll and ate tropical fruit. The kids were asking to play the same board game we played yesterday - I posted a picture in yesterday's Blog with them playing.  And they really enjoyed it again.  Avi and Atley chose the same color pieces, but Nora chose green this time.  She said, "I had blue yester-morning."  Two times today I heard her say, "yester-morning."  :) First picture - This is pretty silly, but I LOVE the expression on Nora's face.  So cute.  Nora was watching Atley and I asked Atley, "what are you sniffing?"  She said, "Your sock!"  Haha!  What a goof!  Nora cracked up and Atley's goal was accomplished!  Then these two girls continued to laugh and laugh!  :) We went outside this morning and here are some...

Nora ate whole wheat English muffin and two servings of grapes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate pork chop, whole wheat toast, beets, bite of sweet potatoes, and ate applesauce.  At breakfast Atley said, "We can't cough at the table."  Haha!  I said, "Yes we can cough, but we cover our cough like this."  (So I did a cough into my elbow.)  Nora said, "We can say aaah.....chooo!!"  Ha!  Avi said, "NO! We say Bless you!!"  Hilarious! Atley and Nora were having a conversation and it went something like this.  (Invitations to each other's house are common; almost daily.)  Atley said, "Do you want to come to my house Nora?"  Nora said, "No, just my own house."  Atley (obviously trying to sweeten the pot - haha!) said, "Well I have Brad at my house. Nora ate some whole wheat Chex cereal and ate peaches for breakfast.  For lunch she ate ground beef, whole wheat hamburger bun, tomato, avocado, and three servings of oranges.  I looked out the window during lunch and there was a little bunny rabbit in the yard.  So I took Nora, Avi, and Atley out on the patio and the bunny continued to sit in the middle of the yard munching grass.  Atley asked, "Can we go get it?"  Sure!  So away they went running across the yard after the bunny, and away the bunny went; even faster!  :)  That was just too cute.  Atley asked, "why did it run?"  Because you were chasing it!!  Ha!  I told them it was the real easter bunny!  (Just running a bit behind schedule.) Nora ate half of oatmeal and bites of dried cranberries for breakfast.  For lunch she ate half of tilapia, ate whole wheat elbow noodles, green beans, and applesauce. First picture: This is Nora's MO under noisy circumstances!  Zoom in on the picture and you'll see she has her ears plugged!  Atley, Avi, and Linnea were being loud and rowdy!!  At least Nora wasn't distressed and she was still smiling!!  :) Next picture - we'd brought the medium sized blocks in from the patio so Lauralea could do some testing with Linnea.  Avi, Atley, and Nora wanted to build with them.  Atley said, "I'm making a Christmas tree."  Avi said, "We (Nora and I) are making a train!" Nora ate half of whole wheat bagel and ate her peaches for breakfast.  For lunch she ate several bites of hamburger and sausage pizza with whole wheat pizza crust, tomato sauce, olives, pineapple, and peppers.  She also ate a large serving of pineapple on the side. This first picture is from yesterday afternoon!  The kids started asking about sand play in the middle of February when there was still lots of snow on the ground!!  Nora was the first one done in the sand, but she still played for probably 15 - 20 minutes. Next picture: Laughing, giggling, and being goofy with Atley.  They were on their "bunk beds" and playing with the flashlights. Nora ate most of whole wheat toast and ate grapes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate pork roast, bites of whole wheat tortillas, bite of potatoes, no carrots, and ate a large serving of fruit salad. First picutre is from yesterday afternoon:  This probably wasn't the most appropriate activity, but they were having SO much fun - at least that's certainly what all the laughing sounded like!!  So I just watched close to make sure it didn't get out of hand!!  Nora is on the left with her arms outstretched!! Nora ate half of whole wheat English muffin and a bite of dried plums for breakfast.  For lunch she ate a large serving of chicken with stir fry vegetables, no brown rice and she ate three servings of oranges. Just an FYI: So far Nora is doing good with wearing her big girl underwear today.  Here's something funny she said about looking at Avi's poop!  "That was so great!"  Haha!  Yes it's crude, but in My world that's pretty normal!! Nora ate cheerios and half of banana for breakfast.  For lunch she ate ground beef, half of whole wheat pita bread, a few olives, ate salad, and ate her strawberries.  At the breakfast table Avi told Nora; "If you dink around you're gonna be done!"  Nora said, "NOOO!"  Avi said, "Say, no thank you!"  LOL!!  Well, we're off to a good Monday morning!! First picture - We did a toy, book, and puzzle exchange this weekend and everyone was busy.  Nora grabbed a doll and some bunny ears first thing and she's a pretty cute little bunny!!  So check out the second picture!!  Cracked me up!!  Nora was showing Atley her big girl panties and she has her pants around her knees and of course Atley is pulling her's down too!!  Hilarious!!   Next picture - All the kids, including Nora, were playing with the cars and a ramp I got out.  It was noisy, but Nora apparently had her "mommy ears" tuned to Callahan channel!!  He was ...

Nora ate bites of oatmeal and ate baked cinnamon apples for breakfast.  For lunch she ate salmon, ate whole wheat dinner roll, cauliflower, and mangoes. Every morning Nora picks out the color of her ponytail holder and it matches something she's wearing!!  Occasionally, like this morning, she does it "backwards" and picks the ponytail holder first, and then looks to see if she has something to match!!  Ha!  This morning she picked blue and then searched what she was wearing.  She finally found some blue on her socks!! Nora ate most of whole wheat English muffin and half of oranges for breakfast.  For lunch she ate ground beef, whole wheat elbow noodles, peas, and two servings of applesauce.  (With the 2nd serving going on her peas which helped her finish those!) This first picture is from yesterday afternoon.  Nora and I were working on the "I love you" sign.  She's been trying to make those fingers work with that sign, but it's not easy when her ring finger wants to keep popping up!!  So I held it down for her so she could see what it felt like and she was able to hold it that way for quite a while.  Way to work hard and concentrate Nora!! Well Nora had a successful time waving "bye" at the window this morning.  No tears and no yelling at the other kids!  Cheers!!  (Avi and Svea had not yet arrived!  Hmmm...I wonder if there's any correlation!?!
