Nora ate malt-o-meal cereal and bites of dried plums for breakfast.  For lunch she ate most of "beef kabobs" (beef, peppers, zucchini, mushrooms), ate whole wheat toast, and pineapple.  We were eating breakfast when Nora arrived and after Momma Emily went out the door Hudson said, "I wanna wave at The Emily."  Haha!  " The Emily." So I was visiting with Nora at breakfast and I asked, "Hey Nora, what does Birdie say?"  Hudson said, "Tweet tweet."  Avilene said, "Tweet tweet."  I said, "You guys will have to talk to The Emily so she can explain this to you.  Haha!!  (I wasn't about to tell Hudson that Birdie is a Dog!!  He would have verbally processed that concept ALL morning!!) In the first picture Hudson was holding a mirror in front of Nora's face and he said, "This is Nora."  Ha!  These are some new mirrors I got; one side kind of magnifies and the other side is kind of distorted!  (Hey!  Just ...

Nora ate waffle and two servings of fruit salad for breakfast.  For lunch she ate everything as well: Shepard's Pie with hamburger, green beans, carrots, and potatoes, ate whole grain tortillas, and cherries. This is just an FYI for everyone.  I'm having issues with my printer so I've not printed hard copies of the invoices for October.  Childcare payments are due Monday, October 1st and I'll print receipts as soon as I figure it out.  Thanks. Occasionally, Hudson likes to mimic me and be the "teacher."  Nora was looking at the color poster and Hudson went over and started pointing at colors saying, "This is brown, this is green..."  He's quite zealous in his presentation, but not too concerned about accuracy - especially with colors!!  (Haha!  I know just how you feel Hudson.)  He pointed at yellow today and said, "This is pink!"  :) Nora was doing some more of her "snow-plowing" with the blocks.  Except she'll push...

Notice to Blog readers:  There will be no Blogs tomorrow, Wednesday, September 27th.  Little Treasures is closing at Noon on Wednesday so I can get an MRI of my neck.  The Blogs will resume on Thursday. Nora ate toasted whole wheat english muffin and lots of grapes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate pork chop meat, bites of bread, roasted vegetables (bites of potatoes, no beets, bites of sweet potatoes), and ate lots of applesauce. Nora had a good morning - she was tired by lunch - still laughing at my jokes though!!  :)  In this first picture; I've always called this the "snow plow" when kids push the blocks around the room plowing through anything that is in the road!  This was one of the first activities Nora did today and I have no idea how many times she was back-n-forth across the room like this!!  She'd play with something else and then back to the snow plow. Hudson had a Doctor appointment and arrived at 10:00 this morning and here...

Nora had a bite of whole wheat bagel and ate lots of peaches for breakfast.  For lunch she ate bites of sausage & hamburger pizza, whole wheat pizza crust, olives, mushrooms, peppers, tomato sauce, and pineapple.  Plus she ate a large serving of pineapple. Nora was pretty quiet this morning and kind of acting like she didn't feel well.  We snuggled every chance I had and about 11:00 she was feeling kind of warm.  I took her temp and she had a low grade fever - about 100.7 - so we'll see how she does after she wakes up.  I took this picture about 11:00 when she got up on the couch.  Poor sweetie.  Sophie visited this morning for probably an hour, but Nora wasn't feeling like entertaining company (ha!) and she just snuggled on my lap all the time Sophie was here. However, I just happen to have some pictures from yesterday afternoon!!  :)  In the first picture Kenzie was making her laugh so hard!  (The old blanket over the head tr...

Nora ate whole wheat toast and lots of grapes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate pork chop, whole grain tortillas, bites of carrots and potatoes, and ate fruit salad. The first picture: Nora got a couple of the little blocks and she's using them for her chair.  Atley watched her and then got little blocks for a chair too.  It's very cute how often Atley is mimicking Nora's behavior.  (All the children obviously mimic each other's behavior, but I've noticed Atley doing it a lot lately.) Also, if you look closely you'll see she has a small legos piece and she was "pinning" it under her chin and holding it there.  She kept working at it until she got it. In the next picture Nora was using this doll blanket for several different things.  She was wrapping it around her waist similar to a skirt.  She was using it as a head covering.  When I took the picture she was wrapping some toys (several sets of keys on rings - 5 or 6 keys per set.) up like ...

Nora ate half of her toasted whole wheat english muffin and bites of dried plums.  She wouldn't eat any of the plums until I got her a little fork and that changed everything.  :)  She ate all of her lunch; chicken with stir fry vegetables, brown rice, and oranges. After waving bye at the window to Momma Emily she practically sprinted to the mattress to flop around, squeal, kick, and be totally silly.  It was Hilarious. It's probably hard to tell from the picture, but Avilene was setting Nora up with quite the awesome sandwich!  It had buns, bread, tomato, hot dog, burger patty, lettuce, lunch meat, and cheese.  Maybe more, but you get the idea.  :) Nora is getting more brave and crawling across the blue balance beam now; several times this morning.  (See the next picture.)  It won't be long and she'll be walking across it!  Good practice for those large motor skills.  In the following picture I love how Nora is experimentin...

Nora ate all of her breakfast: cheerios and banana.  For lunch she ate meat from taco salad, ate olives, and tomatoes, bites of lettuce and salsa.  She ate bites of pita bread and ate cantaloupe. I have a note left over from last week when Mommy was gone to Denver.  Thursday and Friday when Riley came after school she was mystified because Nora was in "jeans."  Haha!  Thursday she asked, "Why is Nora wearing jeans?"  (I hadn't noticed of course!)  I don't know.  You'll have to ask her Dad. So on Friday she saw jeans again and asked again; "Why did her Dad put jeans on her?!?"  LOL!!  Sorry, I still don't know. I love Nora's little loves she gives.  She'll come by where I'm sitting and rest her cheek or face on my knee for a moment and then continue playing.  So cute.  We've always called this "checking in."  They just come by to "check in" and everything is good, so they continue with their work.  :) ...

Nora ate brown rice and a few raisins for breakfast.  For lunch she ate bites of salmon, most of dinner roll, ate half of corn, and ate her mangoes. This first picture is from yesterday afternoon.  Riley had built this legos piece with Nora hanging out close beside her.  After Riley finished her work Nora started playing with it and was soon filling the inside full of little legos pieces when I took the picture.  She loves the detail work!  Hmmm...you've heard this before!?  Ok.  So here's the deal - if you see a similar picture pop up day after day - it's safe to assume you're seeing a favorite activity of your child!  :)  (There is no end to the insights you can receive from this Blog!  Ha!)  With that thought in mind, I took the second picture this morning and it's more of the same with a slight twist.  This toy has 5 different shapes.  If you look close you can see a square and triangle shape on the side of the truck...

Nora ate most of toasted whole wheat english muffin and ate oranges for breakfast.  For lunch she ate ground beef, whole wheat elbow noodles, peas, and applesauce.  She was pretty hesitant at lunch because it was all "small" stuff to eat, but she let me feed her almost the entire meal; mixed together in the applesauce!  :)  She loved it.  You were a good sport Nora! Hudson was following Nora around with a stuffed animal and I had no idea what he was doing, but I soon found out!  (This is the fun part about having a very verbal young child!)  He said, "I'm playing a game with Nora!"  Oh, that's nice of you.  What kind of game are you playing?  "I'm taking her to play football!"  Haha!  (He must see something I'm not seeing in Nora!!) We sang songs and read lots of books.  Nora was playing on the mattress and I started singing, "If you're happy and you know it clap your hands."  She whirled around, sat up, and immed...

Nora ate french toast and strawberries for breakfast.  For lunch she ate Paleo Stew (with ground burger, sweet potatoes, carrots, green beans, peppers, cauliflower, and broccoli), ate crackers, and tropical fruit.  I'm so impressed with how good of an eater she is! Hudson is obviously impressed with how well Nora is walking too!!  Haha!  After a 4 day weekend he kept saying this morning, "Hey, Nora's walking!!"  She walked over to him and was trying to just touch him; notice his body language in the 2nd picture!  (Leaning back, arm in defensive position!)  It was cracking me up!  She's just trying to touch you Hudson!  And he didn't want her too!  In the 3rd picture she joined him playing with the airplane and he was fine with that.  :) In the next picture Nora has found the zipper on one of our pillows and this is totally in her play book!  The little details girl with highly developed pincher skills!!  Ha!! ...

Nora ate waffle and lots of grapes for breakfast.  She only had 2 or 3 bites of waffle left so I moved the bites closer to her on the plate.  She immediately moved the bites back across the plate to where they originally were!  Ha!  Cracked me up.  "I got my food where I want it!"  And apparently she did because she ate it!  For lunch she ate baked chicken, whole grain tortillas, bite or taste of roasted cabbage, and ate baked cinnamon apples. It's been kind of a slow day around here again this morning.  Hudson has been in Denver and he'll be back tomorrow, but until the after-school kids come it's just the 3 girls; Atley, Avi, and Nora.  It always interests me how group dynamics change even at this very young age (when kids are gone, or we add new kids) and how these temperament types and personalities all fit together.  Sometimes it's easy and sometimes it's a work in progress!!! And in case you're keeping score it's pretty easy with...

Nora ate kix cereal and lots of mixed fruit for breakfast.  For lunch she ate most of ground turkey, ate whole wheat bun, lettuce, tomatoes, and ate her cherries. I've mentioned Nora's morning rituals before, but it's so cute.  She and Atley do similar things as soon as they are done waving bye at the window.  Nora goes to the mattress, flops on it, giggling, grinning and sucking her thumb.   (Today was slightly different; the first thing Nora did was flop on the floor by the window, roll around giggling, then she headed to the mattress.  Ha!)  Atley flops on the mattress giggling, squealing, rolling around, and covering her face with some stuffed animals.  :)  I took this first picture when Atley was closely watching Nora with some dress-up clothes and Nora was trying to put this over her head.  Atley is peering around the corner at her as if to say; "What exactly are you trying to do?!?"  :) I took the next picture when Nora was ...

Nora ate oatmeal and apple bites for breakfast.  For lunch she ate hamburger stew (with meat, carrots, potatoes, and green beans) and ate it all except some of the potatoes.  And it was a large serving of stew!  She ate dinner roll and two servings of apricots!  A wee little thing with a big appetite!!  Ha!  Nice job Nora!!  (Lauralea was impressed!) I'm going to give everyone a little update on why I've visited the Doctor on Friday and again this week. I've got some inflammation above my shoulder blade and in the muscles that go from my neck to my shoulder.  And I was having some muscle spasms as well.  It's been very painful and uncomfortable! So they started me on a strong dose of steroid and I should see some improvement over the weekend!  That is why Lauralea is hanging out with us today!  Thank you SO much Lauralea!  It made the morning totally manageable! These first 2 pictures are obviously pictures that I can't tak...
